Kristy Evans

Kristy Evans is a mixed media artist from Indianola, Iowa. She began painting in 2019 after leaving her position teaching HS English due to medical issues (now resolved).

During this time at home, Kristy started taking online art classes and, as her health allowed, joined community art outreach groups. She began selling her work privately, participating in outdoor festivals, joining group exhibitions and then landing exhibitions of her own. Kristy next organized a small pop-up art festival in Indianola called Artists Avenue. In 2025 and 2026, Kristy also helped recruit writers and organize programming for Literary Arts at the Des Moines Arts Festival. Currently, for 2026, Kristy is working on a #BrainHealth daily collage project that will be a fundraiser in 2027.
